This Week at SNOW Swimming


Week of August 22, 2016-
  • SNOW Office reopens for the 2017 swim year on Monday, August 22;
  • Senior Gold & Silver groups continue to swim at Sugarland; Monday Aug 29th is off (1st day of school)
  • SNOW year-round groups begin Tuesday, September 6 at Broadlands training camp, with school year and sessional groups beginning the week of Monday, September 12 at all three sites. Check the club website for details (www.snowswimming.org).

This Week at SNOW Swimming
  • Senior Gold & Silver groups begin their 2016-2017 swim year at Sugarland;
  • All other groups continue with their annual break;
  • SNOW Office closed until Monday, August 22;
  • Enjoy your time off, stay active and get excited for the up coming year!

Last Week at SNOW Swimming:
  • SNOW finishes 12th overall (out of 80 teams scoring points) at the USA Swimming Futures Championships at UMD. Michael Burris, Colin Hughes, Shelby Gerving and first time qualifier Janika Perezous led the way;
  • Jack Moore finished 3rd overall in the High Point scoring for 13-14 Boys at the Eastern Zone Championships held up on LI last weekend. Jack won the 100 & 200 Free and the 200 IM to pace the PVS Zone Team to the overall Team Title!
  • The SNOW contingent at the ISCA Senior Summer Championship (Clearwater, FL) swam very well, led by best times from (and a strong showing in Finals) from Sally Burkley, Emerson Davis, Jake Yeager, Stuart Pliuskaitis and Sammy and Maren Oliver.
  • Congratulations to all the SNOW student-athletes who swam fast & represented us well at meets far & wide this summer!

Week of August 1, 2016

This Week at SNOW Swimming-

Long Course Championships wrap up for 28 SNOW student-athletes:
  • 4 SNOW athletes compete with the PVS Zone Team Wed-Sat up on LI (NY) at the Eastern Zone Championships;
  • An 11 member squad swims in St. Petersburg, FL, Wed-Sat at the International Swim Coaches Association Summer Senior Championships; 
  • 13 SNOW athletes swim at the USA Swimming Futures Championship, held Thu-Sun at UMD; 
Congratulations to everybody who qualified for these season-ending Championships, good luck!

Lastly, the Swimming portion of the Rio Olympic Games kicks off on Friday, August 6; extensive coverage will be broadcast by NBC, or follow online with swimswam.com, or usaswimming.org
