This Week at SNOW:

• Holiday workout schedule begins on Thursday, December 22- check the club website for details (www.snowswimming.org); 

• Entries for the MAKO Meet (Jan 7-8) and the PVS Distance Meet (Sunday, Jan 8, 1000 Free only) are submitted. Check the club website to see your events and meet details;

• "Spirit Wear" orders are in, check with your child's coach to get anything you ordered;

Looking ahead-

• Regular training schedule resumes on Monday, January 2.

Week of September 19, 2016-

• Regular schedule for all groups at all locations;
• Deadline to commit for the Intrasquad Meet (this coming Saturday, September 24) is tomorrow, September 20. Log onto the club website and commit for that meet like any other meet. Email your child's coach if you have any questions;
• Volunteers and officials are still needed for the JP Popovich Memorial Meet, hosted by SNOW at Claude Moore, October 7-9. Check the club website (www.snowswimming.org) for details & volunteer lists.

This Week at SNOW Swimming

Week of August 22, 2016-

• SNOW Office reopens for the 2017 swim year on Monday, August 22;
• Senior Gold & Silver groups continue to swim at Sugarland; Monday Aug 29th is off (1st day of school)
• SNOW year-round groups begin Tuesday, September 6 at Broadlands training camp, with school year and sessional groups beginning the week of Monday, September 12 at all three sites. Check the club website for details (www.snowswimming.org).

This Week at SNOW Swimming

• Senior Gold & Silver groups begin their 2016-2017 swim year at Sugarland;
• All other groups continue with their annual break;
• SNOW Office closed until Monday, August 22;
• Enjoy your time off, stay active and get excited for the up coming year!

Last Week at SNOW Swimming:

• SNOW finishes 12th overall (out of 80 teams scoring points) at the USA Swimming Futures Championships at UMD. Michael Burris, Colin Hughes, Shelby Gerving and first time qualifier Janika Perezous led the way;
• Jack Moore finished 3rd overall in the High Point scoring for 13-14 Boys at the Eastern Zone Championships held up on LI last weekend. Jack won the 100 & 200 Free and the 200 IM to pace the PVS Zone Team to the overall Team Title!
• The SNOW contingent at the ISCA Senior Summer Championship (Clearwater, FL) swam very well, led by best times from (and a strong showing in Finals) from Sally Burkley, Emerson Davis, Jake Yeager, Stuart Pliuskaitis and Sammy and Maren Oliver.
• Congratulations to all the SNOW student-athletes who swam fast & represented us well at meets far & wide this summer!

Week of August 1, 2016

This Week at SNOW Swimming-

Long Course Championships wrap up for 28 SNOW student-athletes:

• 4 SNOW athletes compete with the PVS Zone Team Wed-Sat up on LI (NY) at the Eastern Zone Championships;
• An 11 member squad swims in St. Petersburg, FL, Wed-Sat at the International Swim Coaches Association Summer Senior Championships; 
• 13 SNOW athletes swim at the USA Swimming Futures Championship, held Thu-Sun at UMD; 

Congratulations to everybody who qualified for these season-ending Championships, good luck!

Lastly, the Swimming portion of the Rio Olympic Games kicks off on Friday, August 6; extensive coverage will be broadcast by NBC, or follow online with swimswam.com, or usaswimming.org

This Week at SNOW Swimming-

Championship Update:

• SNOW finishes 6th overall at JO's. Jack Moore wins 2nd Place High Point Award for 13-14 Boys;
• Shelby Gerving, Janika Perezous, Rachel Schlemmer, Emerson Davis, Noah Dyer, JP Vanderloo & Sammy Oliver also shine at JO's for SNOW;
• 28 SNOW Athletes set to compete at Futures (UMD), ISCA (Clearwater, FL) and Zones (LI, NY) next week;
• Hannah Ye and Chloe Ramirez travel to Cincy, OH this week to compete in the National Triathlon Championships; good luck ladies!
• SNOW Summer Recruiting wraps up this weekend at All Stars (Brambleton), tell your friends & neighbors to come see us for a FREE SNOW CONE!

This Week at SNOW Swimming:

• LCM Championship Meets begin this week, Jr/Sr Champs at UMD this weekend, JO's at UMD next weekend. Check the club website or the PVS website for details (www.snowswimming.org, www.pvswim.org);
• Regular workout schedule for all groups at both pools this week, but, NO WORKOUT THIS SUNDAY MORNING, JULY 17 AT SUGARLAND. (Relay Carnival CSL)
• SNOW summer recruiting continues- look for appearances by SNOW coaches at local Wednesday and Saturday meets. Talk us up to your friends and neighbors! Handy dandy printable SNOW Brochure (with pricing) right HERE!!
• Lastly, the 2016 USA Olympic Swim Team begins its camp in San Antonio this week; look for updates, stories and predictions on SwimSwam (www.swimswam.com) and the USA Swimming website (www.usaswimming.org).

• SNOW volunteer & USA Swimming Official, Jan Van Nimwegen heads out to Omaha on Friday to work at the fastest meet in the world, the USA OLYMPIC SWIMMING TRIALS. Congratulations, Jan!

This Week at SNOW Swimming:

• Last week of short course training, regular schedule for all groups;

• NO WORKOUTS for any group this coming Saturday, Sunday or Monday, May 28-30 (Memorial Day Weekend);

• Long course training begins next Tuesday, May 31- check the club website for details (www.snowswimming.org)

• Registration for 2016-2017 is now open to returning SNOW families; registration opens to new families on June 1; All returning swimmers should be registered by June 10th.

Looking ahead:

• SNOW-hosted long course meet (heats and finals), June 17-19 at Claude Moore- check the club website for volunteer opportunities (www.snowswimming.org);

• Two weeks until long course training begins outside;
• Looking ahead: June 17-19, SNOW hosted long course meet at CM- please volunteer at every session your child swims in.

This Week at SNOW Swimming:

• Thanks to all the parents who volunteered this past weekend at our meet! Larger than in years past, we needed every last person to help us run a successful meet- and thanks to all of you, we did!
• Regular schedule this week for all groups at all three locations;
• Coffee with Erik: for all Round Hill & Ida Lee families this Tuesday, May 10 at Georgetown Cafe on King Street in Leesburg, 6:30-7:30 p.m.;  for all Junior Gold families this Wednesday, May 11 at Panera in Sterling (just off Route 7) from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Come by with any questions or feedback you might have;
• LOOKING AHEAD: 2016-2017 registration opens for current families today. Our June prelims/finals meet is right around the corner: June 17-19 at Claude Moore, make plans to volunteer & help our club.

-NO WORKOUTS FOR ANY GROUP AT ANY LOCATION, Friday PM through Sunday, May 6-8;
-SNOW hosted meet at Claude Moore, Friday PM through Sunday PM. Check the club website for details & volunteer opportunities (www.snowswimming.org);
-Adjusted workout schedule for Monday Morning, May 9: Claude Moore Sr. Gold, Sr. Silver and Jr. Gold, and Ida Lee Jr. Gold will all swim at Claude Moore starting at 5:15 a.m. on Mon, 5/9 (workout will be LCM);
-Congratulations to SNOW student-athletes Hannah Ye and Chloe Ramirez, both of whom have for the USA Triathlon National Championships to be held this coming July in Ohio- great job ladies!
